Our first stop will be the Giza Pyramids Complex, located near Cairo. It includes the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, the Pyramid of Menkaure, and the Great Sphinx. Built approximately between 2580 and 2510 BC, the pyramids reflect the architectural genius of ancient Egypt and are considered one of the most important archaeological and tourist sites in the world.
The Great Pyramid of Khufu, built around 2580 BC, is the largest of the Giza pyramids. It is constructed from around one million limestone blocks and is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Remarkably, it remains largely intact, showcasing the extraordinary engineering skills of the ancient Egyptians.
Standing in front of the pyramids is the Great Sphinx, located on the Giza Plateau. This massive limestone statue has the body of a lion and the head of a pharaoh, most likely King Khafre. Built around 2500 BC, it is one of the largest and oldest monolithic statues in the world.
Next, we will visit the Valley Temple, located near the Great Sphinx and the Pyramid of Khafre in Giza. Dating back to the Old Kingdom around 2500 BC, this temple was used for the mummification process and religious rituals of King Khafre. Its impressive architecture offers a fascinating insight into ancient Egyptian burial practices and their monumental construction skills.
After our tour of the Giza Plateau, we will head to the Egyptian Museum, a true treasure house of ancient Egyptian artifacts. Established in 1902, it contains a vast collection spanning nearly 5,000 years of history. Highlights include finely crafted statues, tools, jewelry, and the mummies of pharaohs displayed in the Royal Mummies Hall.
After a full day surrounded by the wonders of ancient Egyptian civilization, we will transfer you back to your hotel in Cairo or Giza in our comfortable vehicle, taking with you unforgettable memories with Ankh Way Tours.
